What is Manuscript Checks?

Manuscript Checks helps authors and publishers get quick, automated feedback on a manuscript before it goes further in the publishing process.

When a manuscript is submitted through ChronosHub, the service can run one or more checks on it. Each check looks at a different aspect of the manuscript and returns a clear result you can act on.

What it checks

  • Scope check — how well the manuscript fits the journal it was submitted to, and which other journals might be a better match. This is available today.
  • Language check and technical check are planned, so more kinds of feedback will follow.

How it works, in short

ChronosHub works with trusted specialist partners who provide the analysis behind each check. ChronosHub sends the manuscript's details to the right partner, collects the result, and presents it back to you as part of your submission — you don't need to contact the partner or manage anything yourself.

For partners

If you provide a tool that can perform one of these checks and you'd like to integrate with ChronosHub, each check type has a published contract that describes exactly what we send you and what we expect back. See Scope Check for the first one.
